We believe Queen Scuba is one of the best boats, with great crew and service, and strong safety standards – and highly recommend it as one of the best value in its class.
About the Boat
The saloon on board the Queen Scuba is very comfortable with large windows giving a panoramic view and houses a good entertainment centre (with TV, DVD, music system). There is also a full selection of marine life books, diving magazines and a nice collection of novels to keep you well entertained. Dining is at the shaded deck outside. Up the stairs, the large 60 sq meter sun deck is the perfect spot to get a nice sun tan. Right in front of the captain’s cabin is a nice seating area with a large bench for those wishing to have a quiet moment, or to watch the crushing waves as the boat moves. There is also a dedicated area for smokers on board. With plenty of space on this boat for everyone to chill out between dives, read a book, sun tan or lounge with the latest movies, the Queen Scuba is definitely one of the nicest boats to spend a few days.
One of the largest liveaboards, Queen Scuba has very high safety standards onboard. She comfortably holds up to 21 guests in a total of 9 cabins. There are 4 types of cabins on board:
All cabins are ensuite, with warm water showers and central air-conditioning. There are also wardrobes in each cabin. Clean bed linen and towels are provided.
The Queen Scuba proudly boasts the largest dive platform in South East Asia, and has a very wide and spacious kitting-up area on two levels with separate entry and exit platform. There are also fresh water areas for rinsing off your dive cameras, computers and torches. Tanks are refilled for you between your dives, so all you have to do is put all your equipment together on the very first day, and for the rest of the trip you can just relax.
The boat also carries a Nitrox blending system onboard so you can choose to fill your tanks with whatever mixture you desire up to 40% Oxygen. The well-trained diving staff are certified as gas blenders to ensure your safety. If you are not yet certified as a Nitrox diver, then this can also easily be done during the trip.
For divers without your own dive computers, Suunto dive computers are available for rent on the boat. This is optional, but it is strongly recommended to rent one of these for your own safety. The dive staff will explain very thoroughly to you how these work.
